Summary: Things just started out wrong
Bouncing a ball around the floor little mischief earned his name as it rolled away from him just as his mother appeared in the temple. One foot appearing on the ball she tripped causing a small squeak from the sitting child. Standing she picked up the offending ball and squeezed it until it burst glaring at trembling lip of her son.
“Look at this mess! You little idiot, I’m sick and tired of all this kid shit. You are officially too old for toys! You will not be like that spoilt brat Cupid, a baby for 200 years with his blond bimbet mother.”
Title: Raising Mischief – Baby
Fandom: Hercules The Legendary Journeys/Xena Warrior Princess
Prompt: #009 Months
Word Count: 553
Summary: Erin’s early days.
Author’s Notes: 10th in the series
Looking at the mirror it Ares saw the first memory Erin had. Even if he wasn’t aware of it. Lying in his crib surrounded by his own filth screaming his lungs out for gods knows how long when his mother dropped the silence spell she had placed around the room cleaning and dressing him with a thought before presenting him to Hera.
The goddess for her part patted the suddenly startled baby and presented Eris with a nurse to help care for Erin as a gift since Eris had been saying she needed to get on with her duties. It was a high priestess from Hera’s temple.
Cupid stared at the bundle in his hands and smiled. Though he had no idea who the child was he just accepted the hug.
“See! I ‘port.”
“Port? Little Mischief?” Cupid asked realizing who this could be. “You got smaller.”
“Was big…momma came and was little again. It hurt…,” Erin said a little sadly and Cupid ruffed his hair trying to distract him.
“You’ve gotten really good at the teleporting; you must give dad a run for his money.”
Title: Raising Mischief – Discord’s Freedom
Fandom: Hercules The Legendary Journeys/Xena Warrior Princess
Prompt: #005 Outsides
Word Count: 602
Summary: Discord faces the world and finds a place.
Author’s Notes: 14th in the series.
Discord had felt the wards go down around her nearly a week before. Nearly three months to the day after being visited by more gods then had spoken to her in a century. All because of that waste of air Strife. She should have left him with his father and never bothered with the brat. Instead punishments had been rained down on her by most of the pantheon. The most disturbing of all had been Hestia.
Erin had been living with Ares for nearly a year and had his uncle wrapped around his little finger. Not that Aries minded though the child still was impossibly shy with any one but him Hestia and Cupid.
He even seemed nervous around Ace. He sighed looking at the warlords presenting their petitions and was about to leave when he heard Erin’s mischievous giggle before the child appeared in his lap.
“Aren’t you supposed to be in school?” He asked as he vanished from the mortals sight into his Olympian temple, just as the tracking bells sounded and ceased.
“I was, but nucle pollo came and the Muses started yelling and throwing books and then he poofed us all to the playground. I came to say hi.”
Apollo had no sooner vanished then Demeter appeared Persephone at her side a small tray of cookies in her hand.
“She insisted,” Demeter said with a shrug. “She just finished them.”
“Told you I could make cookies,” she said presenting the tray to Erin who was on one of Ares’ legs Ace on the other. All three gods reached for cookies which were surprisingly good.
“Want to stay for sleep over?” Erin asked enjoying his cookie. “Unc tells scary stories.”
Ares looked at Demeter who frowned. “It isn’t proper for a young lady…”
“Demeter lighten up, Erin is five, Ace is two you have at least another decade before things have to be proper,” Ares said.
Anteros lowered his head down on the table with a deep sigh. Had he and Cupid been this much trouble? Somehow he doubted it. It surely didn’t help that Erin’s very godhood called for trouble.
He refused to watch any further as what had once been a nice breakfast turned into a food throwing war. He simply flashed away the bit of oatmeal that landed between his wings, all the while Erin’s giggles seemed to be egging the children on.
Anteros would much rather be in the countryside shooting a few villagers. But no he had to tell his father that he had nothing to do until evening.
Cupid entered the temple looking for his father. Walking around he noticed the plate waiting out on the counter and wondered who it was for as he had just decided to speak to his father. Looking around the temple he instantly noticed the new door. Walking over to it he pushed it open.
Strife sat up with a start. Looking at the now open door he stared at the stranger.
“Hey kid, you seen my dad? Ares?” Strife nodded and tried not to cry again sniffing miserably. “What’s wrong?”
“‘m ‘the’tic cuz I can’t pooft.”
“Erin you are ten now, you have been living with me for the last six years. I think its time you visit the mortal realm and learn to interact with mortals,” Ares said as Erin continued to eat. He waited a moment for the news to sink in and when he still didn’t get the expected excitement he looked at Erin. “Something wrong?”
“It’s just that, I…was practicing looking in on the mortals. Moving things, turning them colors, I looked in this tavern and I just really got a bad feeling,” Erin admitted.
“Do you want to show me this tavern?” Ares said his voice calm though he had a horrible feeling he knew who Erin had accidentally stumbled on. He was vaguely surprised Eris had actually lasted that long in one location with out causing murder.
Aphrodite flashed in with a shower of pink glitter and falling petals. She appeared at Ares’ side and frowned at the look of pure rage on his face. Glancing at what he was looking at the frown changed to a look of disgust.
Looking around she saw Hades with a young child so pale she wondered if that whole Hades can’t have children thing wasn’t a fraud. Glancing back at the mirror at the tiny voice that called for , “momma.” Love’s expression was anything but.
“That bitch!” Aphrodite snarled.
The dinner had been a raging success and after desert and warm milk most of the children were piled in Hestia’s bed, in various states of sleep. Many a plush to be seen wrapped in the tiny arms.
Their parents and other gods were gathered in Hestia’s sitting room wanting to discuss what they had spied in the mirror and how to deal with it.
“I want to rip out that witch’s spleen and feel it to her,” Actually came from Cupid his eyes flashing darkly.
“Why not her spine?” Aphrodite asked and for the first time some wondered where Cupid really got his temper from.
“Unc?” Erin whispered approaching Ares. He had been in Ares’ room drawing and the war god had taken the time to view some petitions from his various temples and shrines. Smiling the war god sat back from the table and his stack of scrolls and patted his knee.
Erin climbed on nervously glancing at Ares’ vest and the God mentally cursed Eris. The bruise was fading but it was still there. Whatever Ace had done it was still working just slower or he wouldn’t have a fading yellow bruise right now but something that was deep purple and painful to the touch. Running his fingers through Erin’s hair which caused it to stick up in a variety of directions had the desired effect and Erin curled up against him.
Anteros was the first to wake the feeling of eyes on him. He cracked one eye open and realized he wasn’t the first to wake. Persephone and Erin were staring at him. Erin with a mischievous glint in his eye. Looking at the god and at the Ares doll tucked under his arm he waved his hand.
He could feel the tingle of the child’s power on him centering near his head but he wasn’t sure what Erin had done.
“Erin,” Ares growled waking at the short burst of power. “Did you make snacks in bed again?”
“No unc,” Erin said crawling over Anteros’ knees to get a morning hug. Anteros sat up wondering what the boy had done when he turned to him and opened his arms. “Hug?”
Ares placed down his scroll and watched as Erin bounced around the room, thanking the stars he didn’t have wings. Cupid had moments this hyper as a child buzzing around the room as if he was ready to explode. Starring at the boy he waited until he bounced to his side.
“Are you done yet?” Erin asked excitedly.
“Yes, we can go now, to you know what you are going to do?”
“Play!” Erin exclaimed.
“Remember they are mortal,” Ares warned knowing some of his games with Ace and Persephone when she escaped Demeter weren’t exactly safe for those that needed to breathe, or could be crushed by his arms. There was also the fact that they would not react well to being turned green; Erin’s current color of choice.
Aries stared at his nephew; it was a full five seconds before he could even form a response. He looked at Strife’s blank expression and wondered what Eris had been thinking having a child for this long and not even teaching him the basics. This was not included in his list of necessary training.
“Athena!” The war god bellowed and it took a few moments before the goddess of war and wisdom appeared.
“He can’t read or write,” he said pointing at Strife who looked as if he wanted to melt into the pillar he was leaning against.
“Is that him?” She whispered looking in on the sleeping form.
“And you couldn’t tell big brother? Shame on you, he should be bouncing balls around and chasing butterflies, not sword training.”
“Hebe if I had even guessed I would have done things much differently.”
“Is that a feather he’s holding?”
“Yes, one of Cupid’s if he was really that age…I guess he just likes it. Can you help him?” Ares asked getting to the point of why he had asked his sister over. This whole thing seemed as if it fell into her domain.
Hera appeared in the cave where Eris was hiding out in the north of Greece with no bright flashes of light or anything else to alert her daughter. She quickly sealed the cave so she would not have to chase her daughter through Greece and Olympus.
She entered into a portion of the cave blocked from most godly and mortal vision and found her daughter sprawled out on a lavish bed. A mortal tied up and hanging over the bed covered in lash marks. With a shake of her head she sent the mortal to one of Apollo’s temples making herself know to Eris.
Looking at her mother Eris quickly tried to flash out growling in frustration when she was unable to do so. Snarling she crossed her arms and looked defiantly at her mother.
Hera flashed into Ares’ temple and smiled at the sight that greeted her. Ares was lying in his bed curled protectively around Erin stroking the sleeping boy’s hair. He eyed his mother but made no move to get out of the bed.
Hera smiled and approached the bed. It was then Ares noticed the extra energy she had with her and the distinct signature of Eris.
“What did you do?” Ares asked intrigued.
“A little punishment, a little gift for Erin,” she said extending her arm and feeding Erin the excess energy before sealing Discord’s power symbol in her temple and sealing the entire structure off for the next few decades. Knowing her daughter Erin would claim it long before she ever did again.
As Erin went off to discover the wonders of chocolate, Ares had a grimmer task set before him. Appearing in the sealed cave he found his sister pacing and cursing, so wrapped up in herself she did not notice the entrance of her very enraged twin. Until a fist impacted with her face crushing her nose.
Temporally forgetting her new lesser status she attempted to punch her brother. The blow broke her hand. Screaming as blood poured from her nose and her hand began to swell. Blood pouring down her face she was not one to give in yet. She was one of the house of war and she had not earned her position lightly. Being Ares’ twin had meant nothing in her becoming his second.
And she was not going to let something like being stripped of her powers stop her from retaliating. Ares watched this slightly amused easily reading his sister. He knew how her mind worked and wondered how she simply ‘forgot’ even as a full god she was never a match for Ares.
Erin woke slowly, noticing the Ares doll in his arms and smiled squeezing it tightly to his chest. “Unc,” he whispered giggling as he made the plush wings flap. Smiling he looked about the room. Before he could even think about moving off the bed there was a flash of light.
Looking up he grinned at the appearance of Ares followed by the appearance of Apollo a moment later. He smiled as Ares approached the bed, eying his hands.
“What’s that you have there?”
“Unc!” Erin replied with a giggle, shaking the doll so the wings flapped. Apollo snorted and Ares arched a brow.
After the incident with Erin Hestia sent a quick message to Hades via Hermes to show up earlier to the dinner. She wanted to get some answers and was sure Ares and Apollo were just as anxious as well to find out what his other triggers were to help him deal with it.
As Hestia cooked to help calm herself she tried to understand how someone, even Discord, could so utterly destroy a child. If she went to the bathing chamber she was sure to find Ace splashing and giggling with his father. It was what Erin should be doing but instead he was being cradled by Ares, who worked so hard to keep from being consumed by his station.
Ares held Erin close as the boy woke. Holding him close, Erin started then looked at Ares and opened his arms to the god. Ares complied instantly rubbing Erin’s back.
Title: Never Never Land
Author: Blue Gold
Pairings: Spike/Xander, Clark/Lex, Dick/Bruce, Ares/Joxer, Cupid/Strife, etc…
Fandoms: Multi Centered in Buffyverse w/ support from Ultimate Spiderman, DC, Smallville, Xena/Hercules, Ultimate X-Men and a few surprises along the way,
Summary: Xander wakes in a strange place where superhero’s and gods are real, and they all have been captured. For what and by whom has yet to be discovered.
Willow stared at the vampire at her side and frowned. Spike was pacing agitated and if it wasn’t for his chip and the fact that she was sure, he wouldn’t hurt her for Xander’s sake if nothing else she may have been worried.
Spike had dragged her into the basement of the magic shop claiming he needed something to clear a nest of roach like demons from his crypt ant that it was a two person spell and now she was a hearing this.
Lex looked up as Clark entered into his study. “Hello Clark.”
“Lex I want to know what you were up to at Summerholt.” Lex stared at Clark for a long moment and frowned. Reaching into his desk drawer he had his handgun in his hand before he looked back at the farm boy,
“You want to know what?” Lex asked slowly releasing the safety as he spoke. “Did you acquire some new jewelry while you were gone?”
“Don’t avoid the subject Lex. I want the truth, if you are even capable of that.”
“Bows and arrows love and mush?” Xander exclaimed. “Aren’t you supposed to be a baby?”
“Bliss steals my arrows one time…” Cupid mutters.
“My son god of joy and happiness, Obvious spawn of Mischief himself, with all the trouble he gets into, Who are you mortal?”
“Xander Harris. Now since you are a god and all can you get us out of these?”
“If you think…”
“Cupid, can you call Strife? I can’t call Ares, but I am just a mortal,” Joxer interjected trying to calm the god and learn more about their situation from someone he trusted.
The blond paused and frowned. “Its like he’s not there.”
“Look as fun as all this getting to know each other is we need to figure out a plan to get out of here. Before whoever took us comes back,” Dick states even as he attempts to work out of his chains.
Logan shifted around the Chemistry lab impatiently as Willow performed some tests on the two substances. Writing notes into a little pad she had pulled out of her bag. Watching the red head Logan smiled the lab coat she had placed on reminding him of Jean.
Willow glanced up and smiled slightly at the mutant and gasped as she looked through the microscope.
“What is it Wills?” Buffy asked from her perch at the other end of the lab table.
“It’s held together by a combination of Frog DNA and a sample of whoever they are copying. But it’s not a perfect formula. Even with the magic traces it degrades normally within three weeks. The Frog shares the same DNA pattern and eating it can help it stabilize the body when it needs to heal. I also think it may help slow the degrading process to keep the creature alive up to six months,” Willow added after doing some quick calculations.
Buffy snorted. “I think you’re confused. Xander doesn’t have any kind of power. He gets the snacks.”
“All hail donut king,” Xander muttered a tad bit annoyed at the slayer and felt some satisfaction when his last hyena a little more then silver wisps jumped at the Slayer though it simply swirled past her, or Xander thought until he saw the little pinpricks of blood on the arm she had raised to defend herself.
“Xan was that what I think it was?” Spike asked.
Carrying another body down the stairs they had reached the chains before they realized what was wrong. Dropping the limp body on the floor they looked about the room and saw the hole.
At a speed no human could match they followed the trail out into the woods, then onto the Path. Sensing the direction they speedily made their way only to be barred by the statues of the Endless; all which had left their path waiting, The statue of Destruction shifted then bowed in the direction of the creature, who staggered back onto the path.
A/N: Sorry about the super hiatus…at first I could blame school but now it’s August. Mostly the story spiraled out of control and I’ve been working on a plan to reign it in. The story will be spiraling down a couple different and hopefully be easier to follow than a dozen or so characters interacting at once. It will also be getting darker.
* Mental communication*
Xander blinked looking around. He remembered what he had said but he also had memories of the time that flash forwarded. Breaking up into teams, that had broken up all couples for their supposed safety, a spell that would send them where they were needed and where it was possible that she could be as well, and casting the spell with the help of Willow and Dawn’s blood that should anything go wrong they would instantly be drawn back to the magic shop. The right magic shop in the right universe they hoped.
